Hi everyone, just a question to throw out there as most of the posts I read are from people abroad, I wonder if there is anyone near to me that can recommend a fabulous tortoise vet. It’s for future appointment needs that’s all and maybe a checkup before hibernation time. I live in teeside in the UK. If anyone has any suggestions of tried and tested decent vets specifically for tortoise then please do share. I’m will to travel for my baby too if it’s a trusted vet. Thanks in advance

You could try the folks at The Tortoise Table. They're in the UK and may be able to help.

www.thetortoise table has a list of UK tort vets.
If you google tortoise vets Durham there are a few that come up - Gilmore Vets, Cestria Vets.....
This website also has a vet list

If you have any tortoise clubs near you, you could ask them if they can recommend anyone - and a zoo may be able to help too.

Are you just looking in case your tort needs one in the future or is there a problem with him now?

I'm a new Sulcata owner, a friend of mine who's owned torts for years recommended Trinity Vet Center in Maidstone and they were also recommend to me by another friend that works in a vet, but they do not deal with reptiles.

I was told when I got my Sulcata that she was a Greek Spur (Testudo Graeca). However I didn't believe that to be true. Trinity confirmed my belief via email photos and were very friendly. I will be taking Bonnie my Sulcata there when she needs to go.
