After what seems like 5 months, my Matilda is finally back in my room and her life can settle down. I got an email notice yesterday telling me that the chair I had ordered is no longer made, so an old kitchen chair is filling in. I finished relocating Matilda last night after connecting the computer. She wanted no parts of the move, even though it was only 15 feet! She didn't seem too upset this morning at 3AM though.....she was having strawberry for breakfast! Bad pic but I didn't want to turn on the flash and blind her!

Tonight I get to go in the basement to figure out why the sewage ejector pump for the basement bathroom is not working.............great fun!

Thanks guys..................a crappy job for a plumber.....but at least I AM a plumber and don't need to call anyone and wait for them. I also have two other full bathrooms so it's not to much imposition.

Having to deal with the pump is made worse by the fact that I replaced it two years ago....but I used a Liberty pump instead of a Zoller. It's also in the worst of locations....all work is on my side, lying between two wall studs......with Kerry handing me tools....

Hopefully, it's a faulty float!

The new Zoller is around 400 delivered, I hope I don't need it!

Zollers are good pump's, We used them at the Sewer District. Are you you using macerator pump's?

Pump was clogged with a couple of make-up remover tissues and a big rubber grommet!! I "yelled" at my daughter about the facial cloths, didn't mention the grommet....it came from the wire entry to the holding tank<YIKES> yeah, that might have been on me.

Yes, we generally have odd hours here...waking at 1 or 2AM will do that to you....Matilda is simply pulled by my hours. She's already eaten this morning...Kerry and I watched her pull her worms into her fitting to eat in peace at 4AM

Thanks Y, straight guys can decorate after all, right? It's funny but I don't take any input from Kerry when I' doing a room. None....not because I'm obtuse but because they are my rooms, prob my last since we'll be married in a couple years. I like that they are mine and my ideas. It might sound weird but I never had a chance to do that before. I was either married or too poor to do a room or few. I admit though, there were some sad moments for me at the dump yesterday as we tossed the Wood & Mirror headboards (you know what they all looked like)for the old bed and long dresser(in another room now)....it was the end of my California-dreaming era, my finally closing out 1970........! Kerry is greatly relieved<lol>.

As far as the pumps go MG, that Dayton is a solid sump not an ejector pump but I'm very familiar with them and I'd use the Daytons in a duplex installation because I'd have redundancy. They have different people make their pumps, some good, some not so good. I think Wayne is making them now so they would be a good selection but I had my entire arm is crap yesterday, I won't do that to save a couple bucks....., trust me, it ain't worth it! LOL Were you a pump rep MG? Plumber, sales?

The thing is, to remove a clog from an ejector pump is in no way different from replacing one....it has to come out of the pit for inspection.................poor Kerry was on the opposite side of the room with her collar pulled over her mouth and nose b/c of the smell.

I took a shower, then we headed up to ride the scooters at the park where we found Matilda in '20. We were accosted by a new young "Ranger" who informed us "scooters" were not allowed at the park...............at this point, we were 70 yds from the car. He left and Kerry started towards the car......"no honey, he never said to leave, he simply said they weren't allowed"...............................we spent another hour there taking the VERY long way back to the car....still rebelling against "da man" at 64..................life is fantastic!

Kerry just left in the snow to head back home, but made French toast and fruit b4 she left so now I'm going to relax today.....

The tank is Matilda's "winter home". It's easy to keep and shes only in the 120-130gram range("weigh day is 2/18) so she 'fits' this year, more or less..... and if you did around here, you'll find pics of her outside, predator-safe summer home. We have plenty of racoons, fox- red and gray, opossum who all like little turtles.

I only mentioned, YOU did everything! I saw his renovated home on the other thread....nice, you do really nice work. I restore vintage bikes and I have a lot of respect for guys that know..."it's all in the details". I can't do that with wood.....jus can't. What was that thing- the finished wood piece before you repurposed it? I'm trying to guess and coming up empty...anyone? Tie rack?

I will admit to trying a bridgeway once many years ago outside, it didn't go well........how it yours working? He's probably too small to get himself into too much trouble with it yet. My turtle at the time paid no attention that there was a path...hours of stuff worthy of "Fail Army" today..............LOL

I did see your outside enclosure after I asked about the indoor habitat. You put a lot of work in the outside enclosure and it looks really nice and predictor proof.
I used closet maid shelving to make the fencing. The bridge is history. Like you said it was a death trap and took up to much room. I’m sure I’ll constantly be making changes to Max’s habitat, but that’s part of the fun.
Have lots more safety additions to add.

You must be an exception to the rule about plumbers. Have you ever heard it? I hope it's a faulty pump for you ??
