I grew up in a family of educators/Dr's.....books used to teach. Enough said

I crossed the Chesapeake Bay at 1pm today and the entire bay looked like a mirror....not a ripple, it was pretty surreal looking. Then five miles over the bridge I saw a beautiful adult Bald Eagle fly left to right in full regalia above and in front of me!

It got me to thinking how well that hydroplane I was trying to convince Kerry of a while back would have flown out there today.......but alas....LOL

At lease my shed guy called to chat about his delivery tomorrow.....
Wow nice. Don't you wish your eyes were a camera? I know I do.🙂🥰.

Speaking of cameras... and well... even though it has a major drawback I like it. It's interesting that the only photos of birds I can get, I have to snap from the app 😜 ok 🤔 limbs blowing in the wind can make the camera snap a pic but birds don't. What's up with that? Sneaky little critters 😉

Rose got a picture of this lizard. She didn't see the tail but she said the body was about 8" long. I think it is a Tegu and they are a invasive reptile. They are migrating from South Florida. This is a small one so there must be larger ones in the area. Going to call Florida Wild and Game tomorrow and try and get some traps.

ZEROPILOT says it's a Agama lizard. A invasive reptile from Africa. As with the tegu, they are migrating from southern FL.

I have a bittersweet thing to share. My last little Zebra Finch died through the night. I've had the little flock for 15 or more years. This little guy just kept on living after all the others died so I named him Timex. He's the first one I've ever named. I'm surprised he lived so long alone and glad I was able to give them all maybe a fun life.🤗

He was cute. He let me cup him in my hands to move him if I had to clean his cage. (Never let a zebra finch loose in your house! Believe me!!!) I don't trust them even if they look like a great grandpa 😉 and he did. They fly almost like hummingbirds and are just as beautiful. But catching one is another story. Oh my garsh 😁

Sorry to hear your long time friend passed Ms Cathie. The problem in getting old as I see it, we outlive friends...both varieties and frankly, it sucks. Snap some pics of his relatives and smile on the inside, you DID give him and them, a good life. Come on, nothing EVER tried to eat them! LOL...cept maybe the cat? Try to put on the happy face!

I'm happy to be back at the office today....(someone shoot me) but when I left to go to kerrys for shed duty, I left my folder here...I didn't get much done yesterday. The shed saga, is over....it started raining at 5am, and never stopped. They had told me the guy would call in the morn but he never did. I was stressing b/c I have actual work to do and can't be on the Shore waiting for a shed in case it didn't come....but at 2 something, I watched it roll past the house.....to the wrong address...LOL

They got it right and got it done; Those 3 guys are my A team.....they didn't even need Kerry's dogwood removed out front!
20230131_150916.jpg20230131_151000.jpg20230131_153928.jpg

Blocked and leveled.....I'm happy with that...you can't see it but they got w/i inches of the painted spots on the ground at the corners. I'll have to stretch my carpenter skills to build a ramp for the double and steps for the end door. Naw, Kerry will do it, I'll be the helper....no threats at all to my masculinity...I know who I am and I suck at "wood" LOL

Also have to look for shelving ideas. I've got 8 set of those HD plastic black, 5 shelf deals but they are 20" deep or so, don't know I want to fill my space with that. They installed 4' wide lofts at both ends for light weight storage.

I do wonder if Kerry will get a letter in the mail.....she didn't pull a permit....and heck, I don't have to, I don't live there....and it was sitting out front for a good 30-40 minutes! Prob not what you want in a neighborhood of mostly older folks, some of them busybody's!

I told Kerry that since she doesn't need one for a shed exactly 1/2 this size, tell them I bought two of them and had them nail them together!

enjoy the day guys....

Good morning all and Happy 1st February!
The weather here is dry but grey with temps creeping up to high 40Fs today but the winds have picked up so it feels colder.

Lola is having a lazy week only coming out for short spells and when gently 'persuaded'. He still waits by his door for waitress service to get his food though. :tort:

I'm also having a lazy week so far, I've bruised a middle toe and it's quite painful to walk and stand for long. Those little tootsies can cause big problems! I don't think it's broken, but they can't do much about it even it is so I'll just keep taking the painkillers and wait it out. I'm using my time to sort out old papers which I can do sitting down. Not very exciting but needs doing.
I hope you're all having a good week so far !

Hey @Ray--Opo i think last year you were toying with the idea of some hydroponics to grow things. Here are a few various kits….

I didn't pull a permit when I had my shed delivered. I just made sure my setbacks to my property were within code. For me it was 10' from back property line and 5' for the side.

Thanks Mark, it's still on my personal to do list. I like the system with the 5 gallon pails. Hopefully I get to it this year.

I was surprised also that he lived so long after his last friend died. It's weird going in that room with no zebras in the cage but I knew it was coming. So it's a lot of good memories. Over the years they became so tame especially him though. He would sit on the ledge of the door to his cage while I was trying to clean it. He was so old it was risky to have to catch him if he decided to fly out. They are so small just catching one could hurt them. I wasn't really great I was just consistent on a regular schedule. I think that means the most to captive animals. Oh sooo we're still having Christmas ⛄🎁☺️🥰yeah 🤣👍
