Got her when she was a quarter size. She been in her indoor in closer for the past couple months cause of the cold here in North Eastern Texas.

I see 772 on the scale. Is that 7.72 ounces, or 772 grams? Either is a bit low for over a year. If you'll share info on housing, temperatures and diet, we can help you improve things.

Yeah if you’re able to answer any of these for Tom it could be helpful!🙂

What are your temperatures like all over? Ie basking temp(directly under the bulb), overall day temps(middle and cooler side), night temps?
What kind of basking bulb is being used specifically? Packaging photos are good if you have any
Do you use indoor uv? If so what kind?
How’s humidity?
What’s his substrate?
What kind of monitoring do you have?
What’s his diet been like with you?🙂

A photo of the full set up would be wonderful🐢💚

Make sure your temps aren’t dropping below 80, 75 is too cool for your guy🐢💚

Analog gauges are notoriously inaccurate so I’d get some digital ones that measure both the temperature and humidity. What kind of bulb? You also don’t want sand in her substrate, it’s an impaction risk unfortunately.

You might find this useful to look over hopefully! it’ll help you avoid the wrong bulbs, substrates, housing etc, I always encourage double checking purchases on the forum too before buying😊

As she’s still so small I’m presuming you have her in a closed set up to maintain your humidity? If not hopefully this one helps too!
It covers correct equipment(uvb, heating bulbs, lighting etc, stores often sell the wrong stuff so best to double check) correct levels, importance of a closed chamber for younger torts, appropriately maintaining the humidity, safe substrates, there’s lots of visual examples for everything and a really handy diet link to check out!

Toms care sheet is also really good to go over

This includes different closed chamber options, some work better than others, just bear in mind the size needed for this growing one until they’re ready for outdoors, go as big as you can🐢💚

Okay I’ll keep better eye on that temperature any other suggestions?
Soak Little Momma daily in warm water for about 30 minutes. At the end of her soak lightly scrub her shell with a soft bristle brush. Sulcata tortoises are brown/tan, not black. I love to see her beautiful natural color!

50x30 is too small for a tortoise that size and she's growing.

70s is too cold. Get it warmer by adding another CHE or radiant heat panel, and use a thermostat to keep ambient above 80 day and night. During the day, your basking lamp on a timer should raise the whole enclosure into the high 80s or low 90s.

You're having trouble with humidity because there is too much ventilation. You need a large closed chamber to hold in heat and humidity.

Why did you spray antibiotic spray on the tortoise? Was there a bacterial infection?

Please read these two threads for the current and correct care info. They will help you. Questions are welcome:

Avoid sand and the peat moss, definitely go with coco coir or orchid bark🐢💚
