Russian With Serious Foot Issues

They do teach and inspire us to learn don't they. I'm so glad I got Sapphire my little Russian . I've been thinking about that a lot lately because May 18th is our 18th anniversary together. That's a long time for a pet rock that can climb like a monkey. It's a crazy hilarious inspiring journey but to think we could have another 18 years together is amazing. I'll jut have to try and keep up.

Torts have changed our LIVES ..... Forever. The amount of Love they have put in our hearts is unlike anything else on this planet. Some may get tired of me Thanking all of you all the time but I do really mean it. I have adopted the thought that I NEED to let people know now how they make us feel, how they have shaped our lives and how we feel about them before it's too late. So many say "I hope they knew how I felt...." well I know you will know how I feel cause I'm letting you know now not when it's too late.

Richard and I had no idea when we got Zola what we would be in for - it was just the way this little creature looked at us that somehow made us feel a bond that has become stronger and stronger over the years - nearly 24 years, in fact - he is the most important person in our lives, and has been from the moment we met him. We have had lots of adventures and interesting experiences together, and he has met hundreds of people - who have often gained a very different perspective on tortoises as a result, and have realised how very special they are.

Yes my sons, grandkids and greats have an heirloom they've grown up with in our family still. They've helped me at times like building a new enclosure for Sapphire indoor and outdoor. We've all had to learn so much!!! just to care for this little critter. How to work with wood. How to be a weather predictor. How to read about everything and maintain the proper humidity. How to find him when it's time to come in for the night sometimes I have to enlist my friends to help with that

Yes people are mainly the same. A kind word or just listening means the world. I know it cheers me up to no end. I used to hold all that in from shyness but I came to a conclusion. They need it as much as me. And Torts I can't even begin to explain all that they can give us just by being in our lives for our lifetime and maybe after.

Probably too late now, but you should have called animal control and turned in the prior homeowner for animal abuse. Animal abuse prosecutions are not just for dogs, cats and horses

FANTASTIC !!!
I am really trying hard to get some footage of her for all of you, and Jo Jo. We are becoming busier it seems everyday. Percy is one of the 'Special' ones, her genuine Love and compassion is easily seen and felt by us.

Here in CA nothing would ever be done. If we were to have tried to say something to somebody it would of just resulted in "File a report online" and ended there. We recently rescued turtles from an animal shelter where there were for almost 2 years in a plastic Cricket container.

A whole year has gone by!

How's she doing? Can she walk ok? Did the feet grow back or are they just gone forever? What about the nails?

Sorry to keep pestering you

PLEASE DO .......It's not pestering it's more like a respectful HEY..... She stopped eating on Oct. 7 and we focused on hydration and prep for the long winter. Here's a short video of her. And YES she is walking well, shows no signs of pain, feet healed well (we believe), still as sweet as ever, and seems to be a Happy tort.

Thank you so much, Dana -she looks so calm and happy -how lovely it must feel for her to have space and freedom to move without pain.And how lovely to see her sweet little face at peace with her surroundings.

Isn't it remarkable how resourceful a little tortoise is.it was funny though about the music and my black screen I was thinking Facebook was invading our domain with a robot that hates original videos or something. I was glad it was just you.
