Duma likes her head rubbed. at least i think she does she pushes her head into my finger when i do rub her head and i can reach in from in from of her to pet her head and she will poke her head out further to be pet... anyone else have a tortoise that does this??? either way its endearing. :shy:

I have seen lots of baby pics of Leopards! And they are all quite beautiful, both the Pardalis and the Babcocki. But these pics don't show us the beauty of the adults or even the sub-adults.

So I am asking for to see pics of your Sub-adult and Adult Leopard Tortoises and would like to know if they are of the Pardalis or the Babcocki subsets...and if you dont mind Ages and Sizes.

Thanks, I was going to do a similar thread after you posted your "vs." one and I followed Neal's link to the babies....I'm trying to decide which type to pine for :p

He'd a beauty! I am looking for Leopard pics of all ages, just right now we have a great abundance of Hatchling Leopards and I'd like to see some older selections... anything over a year old is Great!

Is Soone a Babcocki or a Pardalis?

These are my adult babcockers. First of all the mom to the new one that just hatched. She's about 21 years old and raised by a friend of mine from an egg:

She kept chasing me because I was wearing yellow rubber shoes. I had to sacrifice dry socks and give her a shoe to keep her still for a minute. Take a close look at her mouth:

And here she is with the first egg I ever hatched out. This is a male, and about 5 years old, raised dry and badly pyramided. I don't think he's big enough to be the father of the new hatchling, do you?

This is the other female. She's still growing, but is younger than the first one I showed you. She's a rescue, so I don't know her age:

Dennis: Giggerotta is beautiful! At 10 years, she's already bigger than my Babcocker who is 21.

Very Nice! I love the pattern of spots... or rather the lack of pattern!
If he's 10 and 16" @28 lbs, How much bigger will he get?

A good question. I don't know. I have had her a year, and all the new growth you see happened in that time period. She's growing right now.I'm guessing that she'll be close to 20" and 45 pounds in just a couple of years. She's pretty faded and worn, but still my favorite.
