Hello there -
Rocketman is my 4 year old Yellow foot. Typically has an active day - then a rest day, eats well, has a nice smooth shell.
Last night while he was basking, I noticed something on the dark area between where two scutes join. It's where the scute joins the lower edge of the shell...
Nice. That's what I do as well. Rocketman gets a little picky too, so I feel like if I leave his greens out all day he can much on those when he's feeling snacky! He picks off any little amount of protein or fruit first.
Thanks! Perhaps I have found the sweet spot then. A balance between warm enough for a good sip and hour or so soak, but not so comfy that he doesn't want to get out hahaha. Ours stays at a fairly good temp when the heat lamp is on during the day (we keep it at the ambient 70ish for night with no...
Hi there! Currently I have my YF adult enclosure in the kitchen, on the kitchen table. I work from home so it's been great to have company :) The table sits right next to a large window that spans the whole width of enclosure. During the winter I figure it may get chilly - the "drapery" is...
have a good mesh top for the cage now, and a stand with basking light over his flagstone. Humidity is around 80 now and stays consistent without constantly having to mist. Cool side still hovers around 70. Warm around 75-80 with 91 ish for basking.le
So I am on a couple of turtle groups on...
Hello turt lovers :)
I am thinking of getting additional UVB (temporary) for our large enclosure. The warm end doesn't get much exposure. I thought I read that smaller ones are no good? Was thinking of getting a combo lamp stand, heat/UVB bulb. Thoughts? We currently have a long one, 24 inches.
I am not quite sure what the shower curtain would be for - wouldn't it melt?
I am fine spending a little money. What about something like this? Just not sure how to attach to the stand itself
How do you suggest the best way to do that? Thanks for the concerned info. I am here working from home thankfully, but I do have to go out sometimes LOL. I turn it off if so. But it's probably still warm. His setup is literally behind my laptop. He makes a nice coworker :) We didn't need our 8...
Hello!
I joke with my SO that I feel like I live in a turtle table. The kitchen is the warm side, averaging around 77. The living room is where my parrot is, and is around 73. Our bedroom is our "hidey" at around 65 :)
Anywhoo - I work in the kitchen, and have an open low boy for our YF...
