Hello there -
Rocketman is my 4 year old Yellow foot. Typically has an active day - then a rest day, eats well, has a nice smooth shell.
Last night while he was basking, I noticed something on the dark area between where two scutes join. It's where the scute joins the lower edge of the shell. For lack of a better word, it resembles a bit of softened pellets.
Two questions: I thought it was food (but how would it get there) so used a soft brush to try to see if it would come off. He ran away SUPER FAST. Is it because this area is sensitive?
Could this just be growth?
I tried finding something in the forum that is similar. It's only this area on his shell.
