    Sudden burrowing behavior

also I know that burrowing and digging is normal, he has just been doing it more Recently since the change and it is concerning me. It has been a little bit cooler at night than it used to be, for example his terrarium used to sit at 85 at night and now it is sometimes 75-80 because it is not as...

    Sudden burrowing behavior

My sulcata tortoise sunshine has recently started to dig and burrow. He is about a year old, & about a week ago I changed his enclosure to a slightly bigger one so I’m worried the change has stressed him. All of my temps have been the same as well as humidity. He is eating, drinking and soaking...

Why does my hatching hate it outside?

Lol yeah I know that’s true but gosh I thought he’d be a little more used to it by now 😅 when he first came home to me he took no time at all adjusting, it’s just something about outside that is taking him a little longer to acclimate to I guess

Why does my hatching hate it outside?

I take my 4 month old sulcata outside to get some uvb and fresh air and all he does is hide. He has a small makeshift cinder block outdoor enclosure with chicken wire on top, a shaded area and some water. He stays out probably an hour. I checked the temps with my temp gun and they appear normal...

    Sprinkler issue, vet needed?

Oh and to add, the terrarium is in a closed chamber mini green house as well and I use a temp gun and 2 thermostats on each on of the enclosure to monitor the temps

    Sprinkler issue, vet needed?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, upon closer inspection I noticed that he doesn’t have a respiratory infection at all and I was just paranoid. The sprinkler system is more like a mister. It comes on 2 times during the day for 30 seconds on a specific area of the terrarium for humidity. It doesn’t...

    Sprinkler issue, vet needed?

So my four month old sulcata has a sprinkler system in his enclosure for humidity that I only have on during the day because it gets too cool in his enclosure if i have it on at night. Well last night I thought I turned it off but it was left ON, when I wake up this morning I see my tort has...

    Is this Normal?

My 3 month old sulcata will sometimes stretch his neck out and open his mouth (not wide) and bob his head slightly before returning to a normal position. he’s been doing this since I got him but I’m not seeing any other signs of Ri. Is he having trouble breathing? Is it normal? Thank you

How long does Baytril injection last stored?

Hi! So my little guy had a respiratory infection awhile ago but he got better before he finished all the injections. Can I save them just in case it happens again ? If so, does anyone have an idea of the shelf life or if they need refrigeration? Thanks in advance!

    3 month Tortoise lethargic

Hi everyone! I noticed today my sulcata tortoise hatchling was a little lethargic. He ate breakfast fine, got his two ten minute soaks (morning and afternoon) and he used the bathroom during. However, he hasn’t moved much today in general and he didn’t want his second meal; and he ALWAYS wants...

A respiratory infection or something else?

Ok great I was just concerned because he was appearing so much better so I just had to make sure it wasn’t a set back. Thanks so much!

A respiratory infection or something else?

So my 2 month old sulcata was on antibiotics for his respiratory infection. He no longer has a runny nose or watery eyes and is doing much better. I caught it early so he never stopped eating or being active. However I have noticed him occasionally stretching out his head and legs and bobbing it...

    Antibiotic injection trouble

Thank you for your response! His temperatures have all been correct, organic top soil and spaghnum moss for the bedding. My biggest trouble was the humidity, and I think that was his downfall for the upper respiratory infection. I was told a cool mist humidifier can be dangerous and many of them...
