While I was doing my daily jog pushing my daughter around the nature trail next to my house I came upon these two trouble makers. The one on his back is male so I first thought this was a mating accident but I checked the upright tort and he was also male. These are the first torts I've seen since our little FL winter started. I have even seen 3 different torts 3 days in a row at this park. Even seen a small one about the size of a sully yearling once. Here is some other photos of the gophers I've seen before winter. Looks like a bit of territorial argy-bargy between the two.
Well spotted and saved!
