Split scutes can be a genetic thing, but they can also be caused by higher incubation temps, which would also greatly increase the chance that Lewis is a Louise. Just letting you know. Congrats on the baby. You are welcome for the care sheets! :)

I think that subject is interesting too. I had a female box turtle with red eyes. Mother nature dropped the temperature at the time her eyes developed probably. A fluke of nature.😊

I measured him today! He’s about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. Does anyone have a guess on age? His shell is pliable in the umbilical region, no where else, just there.

I did baby Lewis’ weight measurements today and he is 66 grams! Does that seem normal?
