    Is there a way I can be in touch other than posting in the public threads? I have some questions I think you could answer. For example, with the tort who's eyes are stuck closed - on the farm we would use a little boric acid dissolved in warm water and wipe the barn cats' eyes when they were in similar situations. It did a great job, but would it bad to suggest something like for a reptile?

    I think Boric Acid would be OK for a tortoise's eyes.

    I will need to have your email addy to send you any articles/documents. My written documents are primarily on Radiated Tortoises, so I guess that is what you want, but I also have one or two on Star Tortoises. Also you didn't mention what species of tortoise you wish to acquire (again, I would guess Radiated). Anyway, I would need that info to help you find the proper breeders.

    The tort with split jaw ~

    Is there a way to "super glue" it? Being so close to the nares, it seems like there would be no way to keep the fumes from going into its lungs. Is there anything less damaging that might hold the pieces together until it can grow out?

    BUT! Once upon a time I lived in Virginia for a couple years before I moved here permanently, and there were two other people that lived near me there that knew people I knew in Ohio and the good places for music, etc. So its not all that far fetched.

    Please tell this poster the right thing to do. I gave a "making it up as I go" answer, but you are so much better at "what and how to" than I am.

    Hello there. Anyone had experience with Redfoots losing a scute? He’s active, alert, eating great - does not seem to bother him at all. The exposed part is solid, dry, and he doesn’t seemed fazed when I touch it. Is this normal part of age/growth? Thanks!

    Holy sh*t! Green urine in a Sulcata possibly liver failure...mine in Kidney failure is light green and I was recently told say bye bye to my liver...guess that Sulcata ain't gonna make it...the picture of the tort peeing that green will give me nightmares :)

    Yes, unfortunately it doesn't look very good for that sulcata.

    Gee, I wasn't aware that you were suffering from liver failure. Is it coming from cirrhosis of the liver or other causes (if you know)? Have you been told you need or could get a liver transplant? I hope you will be OK. My thoughts are with you.

    Hi so I have a Russian tortoise and yesterday we were outside and he fell on in tail and it’s been bleeding pretty bad his tail is split do you have any idea or tips on what I should do I’ve been applying pressure to it and I’ve been wrapping it up I left a comment on another persons post who this happened to and somebody recommended me to your page

    I can't really tell you what to do without seeing a picture of the problem. I read your post but can't make a blind recommendation. I will tell you that it takes tortoises a long time to heal, but they can endure quite a bit of trauma and still be OK.

    Did you drop the tortoise onto a hard surface like concrete or asphalt?

    Yes it was concrete floor I’ve been trying to keep it wrapped he’s asleep right now so when he wakes up I’ll definitely make sure I send a picture he’s still been eating and wanting to run around as normal

    I was recommended to you to see if you could help me with my Red Foot. I just found a firm knot on my Red Foot tortoise's neck. He was eating this morning. I waited about an hour to check him again and it is still there. Overlook the berry mess from his meal. He is still eating and seems perky. I can provide pictures. I just do not see where to attach here.
