It would be best to clarify details like this in your initial post. There is lots of folks that ask this question because they just think their tort needs a vacation. To that end keep the tort as comfortable as you can on your trip. And good luck with the move.

You need a closed chamber enclosure. You can get a mini green house and put over a properly sized enclosure or buy a closed chamber enclosure. Temperature sweet spot is 84 degrees all around and humidity never below 80% to help prevent molding issues it would be good to switch to fir bark or...

They do have the capability to swim they just are not naturally aquatic. It's possible they were above water before you found them.

I can't answer the weed question but redfoots don't need a basking area. keep temperature around 80° to 84° and the humidity above 80%

I got my tort some cactus pads and some other goodies to eat.

Either of these will work. I prefer the reptibark size myself

It would be best to just replace it with orchid bark of the fir tree type or with reptibark. I have not had any mold issues with my enclosure since I put the reptibark in it. Months ago.

You need to give the tort it's own space, can you please tell us age and size of your tort? Also pictures help.

It's not good to let them roam around your house. They can pick up anything and eat it or even get sick from something they run across.

Indeed! And I don't forsee a rise of the planet of the tortoises situation happening in our life time. As long as we keep them away from the toxic ooze we should be safe as well.
