I'm looking for a new home for my 4 inch Sulcata. I've owned him for 3 months and everything has been good, but I'll be moving to LA after this summer for a new job and unfortunately won't be able to house him anymore. None of my family members can take care of him and some I don't trust they...
I currently have my 4 inch sulcata in a closed off chamber to contain 80+/80%+ degrees and humidity. With research on indoor enclosures, a majority of them are open enclosures. Do sulcata's need for heat and humidity decrease as they get older and bigger? Once my sulcata outgrows his current...
It's been over 2 weeks with my new sulcata, about 3.5 inches. I currently have him in a temporary closed indoor chamber made of two of the same plastic tubs, 3 feet by 1 feet, 6 inches.
We plan to move him soon, in a month or so. My father is against a wooden enclosure, which I said could be a...
It's finally warm enough to take my 3.5 inch Sulcata outside (72F) and everytime I place him into the sun, he finds his way into the shade and stays there. I can imagine the shade being a lot cooler, but he seems to want that more than the warm sun. Is this normal?
My 3.5 inch Sully rather eat his mixed greens (gallon bag I buy from reptile store): mustard greens, arugula, dandelion, and another green element also mallow from my backyard. He chews on the lawn clippings I give him but barely. Also the organic wheat grass I got him he barely touches it. He...
I want to purchase some grass for my Sully. Can I use stick the grass and soil it comes with into the substrate? How do I know if it doesn't have any bad chemicals in it? Would buying organic grass get the job done or do I have to buy separate organic soil. I am using coco coir for substrate...
Here is the album that shows all the weeds in my backyard: https://imgur.com/a/30fqh#Cpgcu0Z.
I believe #2 is dandelion, but I don't know the rest. Any of these are edible for my Sulcata? Thanks in advance!
This past week I haven't had the chance to take my Sully out for some sunlight due to the gloomy weather. Currently it is 62 degrees right now with a bit of sun. Is this too cold or should I be fine leaving him outside with supervision for 20-30 minutes?
So early today I soaked my 4 inch Sulcata. He had so much coco coir on his head that I slowly poured warm water over his head to get it all off. He stretched his neck out and seemed to be soothed by it. But after he spent 3-5 minutes blowing water out of his nose. Should I avoid doing this?
I purchased a 60 watt CHE bulb that wasn't getting my enclosure to 80 degrees. Now I exchanged it for a 100 watt CHE, and now my ambient on the cool side 85 degrees. Is this okay? At moment I don't have enough funds for a thermostat. Can I leave it at 85 degrees for now?
I've own my 3.5 inch + Sulcata for a week. Since getting him, I've seen stool hanging from his tail and cleaned it. Since then, I haven't seen him pass his stool yet. I've given him soaks everyday since. Today's soak he passed white substance and that is about it. Unless, I haven't noticed it...
I got a big enough tub for my 3.5 inch Sulcata. It stands 14 inches tall. I have a mesh lid holding the basking lamp/UVB/A and I have the tub's lid placed covering 2/3 of the enclosure holding up a CHE lamp. For better humidity and temperature control, I was thinking of placing a tub of the same...
Here is my little guy: streamable.com/7pv3r. He's a little less than 4 inches. I'm not certain on the age. My father bought him without that information. So I guess I'll look into something bigger. Could you roughly give me the dimensions of a plastic tub that will work?
I have a new Sulcata in a 10 gallon tank for the past 4 days. Definitely not suitable for him with the research I've done. So I want to move him as soon as possible. Currently I have this:
