Yes - the "pond" (aka retrofitted water heater tank tray) is about 1 1/2" tall plus the rock finish adds a bit. I plan to put a couple of flat rocks inside of it prior to filling it...

After having done some homework, we got our tort several years ago (from a pet store - ugh! now I know better). This was to be my son's pet - but as most of us moms out there know.. I've done all of the caretaking, gladly :)...
