@ big charlie, I do make sure there are two sides my tort can go to in case one side is too cold or one side is too hot. The one side that is "cold" is the side i make sure is humid and the other side is humid but "hot". I also make sure to regularly spray my tort and the enclosure it's in with water and after the sun bathing i give it a nice soak in water for 30 minutes. I wish i could squeeze my tort he's so freaking cute! lol :p

Pearly! thank you so much that really helped, it looks easy and looks like it'll really work for my little one. Do the lamps ever melt the lids? i had an incident like that happen with my tortoises and it was not good....
That is why I would ONLY use screen covers that were made to handle that heat and spent perhaps few extra bucks to get all that from the big box store as I know they have to be meeting some safety standards. Institutions are so scared of litigation, class action law suits they check things over before putting them on store shelves

Check out this thread for sunning enclosure ideas. I put three links to simple, cheap, easy ways to do it in post number 8.

You might have already seen these, but I like to link them for new tortoise owners just in case there are some tips that you have not read yet:

Thank you everyone so much for taking the time to help me! My little tort is such a happy little guy, I love how he's not shy either. Pics to come in the near future! :):<3:
