what ones do you recommend then I wanted to be totally safe even tho her eyes look fine

I use 5.0 tube type for my reds, set at 8" above the torts carapace, not 8" from substrate. Never had an issue and torts seem fine. For the 10.0 you can move it higher like Bri suggested or in the past I've set them above a canopy of foliage(fake) so it's actually dappled from the foliage.

I work in the lighting industry. I assure you the coil types are safe, as you can see yourself. You used it for 5 months w/o issue.

You can use the 10.0. It puts out more UVB per watt, but if you move it a couple inches farther away, less uvb will reach your tort.

Brian, seen as lighting is your field of expertise I'm hoping you can help me. Is there a uvb bulb that can project ubv rays up to 8ft. Mega-ray did one but it's discontinued because they can't get the correct glass anymore(so I've been told off the USA department).
