I've always had good luck with all of my tortoises eating Cuttlebone.
This morning I caught one of the new, 2 week old babies munching on it. Isn't he just precious?
yum yum!
Very Cool, you just reminded me that maybe I should put some in for mine. Hey Heather would you like a couple redfoot hatchlings Just give it some thought I know you are not into them as much as you leopards. It might be good for some of the educational work you do. I have 2 incubators full of eggs
He is very cute. Glad he is enjoying the cuttle. I think you should get a couple of those RF bigred is talking about. How nice of an educational table you would have with a couple torts of many species.
I keep cuttlebone with all the Torts, in every enclosure, all the time, from day one. I don't know if that contributes to them using it. Probably not. Either way, I'm just glad they use it when they want. The leopards go through phases of ignoring it to heavy consumption.
Ed, Redfoots? uh..... I don't know much about them. Honestly, leopards are the ones that hold my heart But should I ever desire to branch out, we can get in touch
Num ...Num....yup they dig it right off the bat. Interesting thought.. how would a land animal have acquired a taste for a Sea Creature?
Also another fascinating thing is how they can smell the stuff a mile away......where I don't think it has all that much smell.
:shy:
