It is great you freed the wild Box turtle. You can probably get a captive turtle that will be friendly and much more fun craigslist. When they are already used to people they are a lot of fun. When they are wild caught they always have fear of humans.
I've had mine since 1989. I believe she was wild caught, but she was so young she always was an outgoing Box turtle. She does have her shy time, but when she realizes it's only me, she won't stop moving. I can only get good photos the few seconds between shy time and regular curious explorer turtle. I use the DVD/PS2 case as a scale.
