I have just noticed in the last 24 hours that Dixie has some white appearing at the edge of her scutes.

Any idea why? Is she OK?
She is still eating, drinking, pooing... everything normal.
I take her outside 4 to 5 times a week for sunning.
Bath her everyday.
Feed her with a variety of grasses, hibiscus, romaine, bak choy, and some pellets to supplement.

Mine gets that when he hits a growth spurt. Just give a good warm soak and dribble water over the shell to keep it moist and supple while it's growing.

Oh and yeah that can happen fast, I swear mine has that by the time I get home from work some days and he didn't before I left. Nothing bad, just growing.

Thanks so much everyone.
What can I expect now? Dixie is now 3 years old... weighs 1 kilo already.

Not sure, but she had that when she first arrived. She had pyramiding from the previous owner/breeder.
Here is what she looked like when I first got her.

Her previous owner did not take care of her very well, especially if what you say is true and they just feed her dog food :////
Thank goodness you have her now
Will you keep me posted on whether or not those little cracks go away or get worse cause Gupta has those and its worrying me..
I looked at him today and it looks like they are going away but they still worry me

I suspect that those "cracks" are due to being too dry as a hatchling. Many breeders still keep them on rabbit pellets under a hot light. I just had a very interesting conversation with the largest sulcata breeder in the country on Friday. I think he was catching on...

I hope thats not true because Gupta had some , but way less severe (barely noticeable) and it was around when he had new growth. I like to think Gupta isn't dehydrated because I keep him in 100% humidity and soak him for an hour every day :/
Maybe I soak him twice a day for safe measures
