Mary T. There are a bunch of us/post in this thread begging for you to tell us everything you can remember about wild sulcata and baby sulcata and any other tortoise you may have seen in Africa. Substrates, rain amounts, temps, anything you can think of or remember. Also any pictures you may have of any in the wild. Please won't you please respond to our post and share all your knowledge big or small about the wild tortoises you witnessed in Africa, PLEASE
I thought I did a little. I have contacted a cousin who is a game ranger in one of the reserves. He is talking to a few experts he knows to get me more information. The babies we had "meat pies" lived around the gassy area of our chicken coop. Where I lived in east London the weather was typical to Florida summer with a little less humidity. We also had very mild winters, for example if it got below 80F it was cold. Our area was very moist because we were near a tropical type valley. My aunts currently live near the coast in Margot and it is a very beachy area. They have the big one that digs into their garden on a regular basis. And these are spur thighs not leopards. We have no pictures per say on this side of the family but my father has been slowly going threw slides since my mothers passing. I'll attempt to post pics if we ever find any and I figure out how. It will take my cousin a few days to get back with me due to the remote places he travels and people he sees.

Acually, "Starved" is not nearly a strong enough term.... but for lack of a better, more desprate term... "Starved" will have to do!
