So, I stumbled across a site that breeds and sells reptiles, including turtles and tortoises. Is it just me who thinks it's wrong to purposely breed an albino animal that relies so much on the sun?

I ment to say, breeds and sells albino reptiles

My experience with albino tortoises has been terrible! Ours had many complications and passed away.

And they charge so much more for them because they are unique looking.

I've had a few Albino sun worshippers and they did just fine outside, in direct Sunlight. Albino and Ivory Sulcatas, and a few different types of Albino Iguanas. Albino Red Eared Sliders and Bullfrogs also..........

I also find anything "unique looking", or rare, is generally more expensive........Simple supply and demand, mixed with a little Capitalism.......

As long as the albino tortoise can get out of the sun, as needed, I see no problem. I've a friend who has cared for an albino desert tortoise for about 30 years, and "Travis" seems perfectly healthy.
