Hey all, I am an aldabra tortoise breeder in Florida. I have been working with this species for many of years. We have had great success with our breeding program resulting with many of hatchlings. This is an extreme hobby and passion for me and I will be happy to answer any questions or provide any direction regarding this species. Pictures available thru e-mail at [email protected].

Hello

My name is gonzalo , i am interested in the aldabra turtle, but before i purchase one it will be good to be well inform , so these are my questions

The state were i live its a desert like in arizona, temperatures are more than 100 F in summer and sometimes below 30 F and also it gets really dry, no humidity ,do you think they can adapt here?

I have a couple of desert turtles, can i consider the same diet for an aldabra ?

Its there any website where i can find a care sheet?

At what age do they get big?

Do you have any hatchlings available? If you do what would be the price?

How much would be for a ship to tucson arizona, i live 3 hours from there.

Thank you for your time

Do you have any food bills? Or do the tortoises just graze on the natural weeds and grasses?.

:shy: Not much, they mostly browse and graze all day.

That's good. They eat like horses, from the looks of it, so glad you don't have to foot much of a feed bill.

Just wanted to post and say thanks for sharing all of the wonderful pictures. They are awesome, and they have provided much enjoyment for me and mine. Keep up the amazing work, and know that there are many who look forward to when you post updates and pictures. :)

Fantastic pictures!

Just curious...when they get that big how much can they actually retract into their shell?
