The place looks great. Why did you switch from your previous walls to cinderblock? How tall is the wall now?
~ Hi Tom, yes sir, after much thought and contemplation i decided to go 100% CBS (concrete, block & stucco). My primary concern was security, safety and control of our pastures. Wood rots so fast and the males could literally break them at times. I always had concerns about overall integrity at our last location that was industrial chain link and wood. This has cat 5+ hurricane codes plus. I had it over engineered. All walls have a solid rebar enforced, 40" deep solid concrete footer with a solid stem wall up to ground level. All blocks have aluminum ladders in between the courses with vertical rebar every 24" and solid poor. All walls have a sold rebar reinforced true tie beam. The outer perimeter security walls are 6' tall, this height was restricted by city code and the inner containment walls are 40" tall. The only access is thru a series of actual commercial grade doors, no gates. It truly is working out well, we are not finished due to all the complications with our GC, however i will move forward when possible. Any questions feel free to post. One typical question is how big is our primary breeder pasture, about 1,25 acres. Over 22,000 blocks and over 2M pounds of concrete went into this project.120345715_1229418720752912_3032715320593322233_o.jpg120472563_1233380420356742_5268025737381198823_o.jpg123582152_1262559077438876_6153508169204195850_o.jpg124184133_1266970366997747_8542877772010471416_o.jpgIMG_3807.JPG149382710_1337888266572623_5336232967966511985_o.jpg

You set the bar very high my friend. That is very impressive. Thank you for sharing this fine example of how to do this.
