Keep seeing tortoise eating fruits on yt, looks cute and all but can't stop and wondering about the damages it could cause. Did a quick search and found the internet that says "Tortoises can eat fruits such as strawberries (which are a favorite), melons, mangos, grapes, pears, and peaches." But this is all in moderation right? Like 10% of the diet?

Blackdog nailed it. Depends on the species. Most tortoises should have no fruit, although you can find 10 care sheets/care videos mistakenly saying to feed fruit to just about any species. Only some of the forest tort species should be getting fruit. Indotestudo and Chelonoidis, for example.
