What this weed called and of course, is it safe for tortoises?

Do a GOOGLE image search for creeping charlie and see if it looks like your plant. If so, its not edible.

Your weed is henbit. It is in the mint family, but does not smell like mint. It is a common weed in winter in the southeast. I've read that it causes 'staggers' in foraging mammals (a condition that usually arises from consuming mycotoxins), is toxic to birds, but safe for humans. I would avoid it if possible

Ok thank you very much! I will keep my torts away from this weed.
