Hey my friend has a sulcata and its shell is rubbing up against it's legs when he walks around the cage causing it too get scratched. Are there any options or things she can do? Do they need there shells shaved at all? I know some need there beaks trimmed from time to time, so im not entirely sure. He's a baby now so she has him in a 40 breeder at the moment but is soon moving him into a laaaargge enclosure.
any help would be greatful
thank you

I don't know a whole lot but it doesn't seem right. Can you post a couple pictures of what you are describing.

some of the sulcatas have had some of the back shell shaved by a vet.

Your friend will have to take the tortoise to a qualified tortoise vet and have the offending parts of the tortoise's shell filed down so they don't rub anymore.
