My sulcata is about 6 months old but every since I have had him every time he pees there is white stuff in it. I have cut back on the calcium powder and I soak him about 1 time a week any other ideas? If I need to I will take him to the vet but I'm out of ideas
Thanks for the help

Those are probably urates. They are normal. You should be soaking your tortoise daily. He is probably dehydrated. Can you give us more information on his set up? What kind of tortoise etc.?

Tortoise designed to survive and live in "arid" areas are designed in such a way to hold onto moisture for as long as possible...when the tortoise has the chance to take in water you will find the urates in the expelled urine...while it is an acceptable material...it can be nearly rid of for a tortoise kept in forced captivity....I would offer up a soak at least once a day and allow the tort to soak for no less than 30 minutes each bath...I would do that for at least 2-4 weeks..and in that time I would also offer up some wet foods in the diet--like romaine, red, green leaf lettuce...offer these up as part of the varied diet...:D

It's all been said already.
Don't worry, just soak daily for 20 minutes or so and check the white urates are creamy, not gritty.
The calcium's fine a couple of times a week, but I use cuttlefish bone so Tidgy can file her beak too.
But some torts won't touch this and you may have to scrape a little on the food.

I think all is fine-nothing to worry about. But a daily soak for 20-30 minutes would be more suitable. That's what I have been giving my Greek tort for the past four years or so-i.e. since I've had it.

What about posting pics of your tort so as to enable experts here to give you more advice.

Good luck and a very warm welcome to the forum.

This is his set up. Substrate is dirt and coconut fiber. He has plants to help with moisture. His cage Temps stand between 70 in shaded area and 95 to 100 in the basking area. He is a sulcata. I got him in December as a hatchling. It's finally starting to warm up enough to take him outside

OK so I have another question how do I get his cage warmer in the shaded area? I have a basking lamp on one side and fluorescent lamps in the middle my house stays at about 70 do I warm my house to 80 at all times? It's getting hotter so 80 will be way to warm in the house. Any ideas would be flgreat
