Arcadia basking bulb guard

Guys.. I may be an idiot but can someone PLEASE tell me how ti attach the bulb guard to my Arcadia basking bulb? I’ve tried looking up YouTube videos but I’m stuck!!

1. You don't need it for tortoise. But it can catch some glass shards if the bulb blows up.
2. It should just "click" and hold on the dome. If not - bend metallic brackets on the guard (there is one right on the photo) towards center (just a little).

As stated, you don't need it for a tortoise. If you do want to put it on, the small tabs on the top edge of the guard need to snap over the ridge on the bottom of the dome. Sometimes the tabs push down into the rim of the guard a bit - so just pull them up and then try to snap them over the edge of the dome.

How is the temp reading under the lamp with a guard on? You might need to adjust the height.

I ended up not putting it on after hearing that they don’t typically need it!!
