Hi everyone! My incandescent bulb hoard has just about run out and I’m seeking a replacement for them. I’d greatly appreciate any advice you can give me on a good replacement. I know halogen and mercury vapor aren’t good for shell health. I’ve found one by Arcadia called golden sun basking flood which seemed promising so I got one. When I went to put it in I took another look and it said it was “infrared-A rich” which is supposed to be deep warming. I’ve found conflicting reports on the safety of this, some saying it can cause damage to the shells keratin while others say it’s fine to use. The only other one I’ve seen that looks like it might be ok to use is one put out by Flukers which says it is an actual incandescent bulb. Appreciate any advice you can give.

Arcadia GoldenSun lamps are essentially the same as Arcadia Solar Basking - regular incandescent bulbs. "Golden Sun" series has a sleeve coating to make light "warmer" as at sunset - it's targeted for species active from dusk till dawn. It can also have lower filament temperature, but that's not different from a regular basking lamp put on a dimmer.

PetSmart sells Arcadia incadescent floodlights as well:

Good to know this! Alex is great with the tech side of things, so your bulb may be fine after all! You can always order the other one as a back up, good to have on hand😊
