How the heck do they breath when they are covered appx 2" under the substraite?

I just got my new Baby T and he digs himself in so deep I can't find him. Does this seem normal and do I have to worry about him breathing????

Thanks

PS He hatched at the end of May so almost a month old... very tiny and i want to be sure he is OK :)

It's normal. I think I read that they dig a little "air hole" for breathing.

Babies bury themselves for protection from predators, cooling off and moisture. Don't worry, they can breathe when buried. Russians are also burrowers, even my adults bury themselves. If the substrate is nice and moist underneath, they will sometimes stay buried for days.
