It should walk normal eventually, it scoots right now because it is easier. What type of substrate is it currently on.

It takes a long time for them to build up the calcium and strengthen the bones and shell. His legs should start getting stronger and he will eventually be able to support himself and walk correctly. Like David (dmmj) alluded to, he will need a substrate that is not slippery and that will support him.

This is actually a time where I won't suggest coir :eek::D and say go with a firmer substrate like cypress mulch, since coir tends to be a bit 'spongy' and less supportive if it isn't well packed.

He is on cypress mulch. His back legs do have strength, they just go out behind him. Hoping he will eventually go under him. As an update, he is doing well, eating, peeing and pooping, coming out of his shell more. Thank you!
