Baby Sulcata Soaking

i need help my baby sulcata is getting a soft shell not sure if it’s because in my room it’s cold and the CHE only warms up one spot and low humidity it’s an open tank i have sphagnum moss and coconut coir mixed with multch however still doesn’t maintain humidity

First of all what are tge basking temps, ambient and cold spot temps
Second, by shell do you mean the plastron or the actual top shell
Third, open top enclosures can nvr retain humidity unless u spray it every hour
Fourth, if the plastron is what's soft does it "give" a bit
Fifth, get rid of the moss because there is a risk of impaction
Sixth, dont only use a che because it wont replicate the normal day and night cycle che's are good for night heat with a thermostat attached to it

I soak our Sulcata babies in a clean bathroom sink. Not only is it easier to refresh the warm water and also give them full body showers...but they get plenty of exercise trying to get up the slick sides ( like being on a treadmill). The warm water and exercise help “things” move along nicely. The much bigger Redfoots I take in the shower a coupla times a week just for added hydration...and they love it

Cold temperatures, low humidity, and moss are all problems to be corrected, but none cause a soft shell.
