Going away for the weekend and my wee tortoise needs to go to a friends house to be looked after. His current indoor enclosure is 4ft by 2 ft and has quite deep substrate so is very heavy to move. I have a smaller tortoise table I had planned to put him in for the weekend but I'm now worried about how stressful this would be for him and whether I should just send him in the bigger enclosure he's already in. What does everyone think?

In my opinion, if two of you can handle to bigger habitat, then you should take him in that. He won't even know he's been moved. But if you take him in a smaller habitat, it will be stressful for him.

I agree, or let your friend come to your house instead if that is possible?

Not convenient for my friend to stay at mine so he def needs to be moved. Think I'll just move him in his big enclosure - would feel too guilty if I caused him to be stressed. Also saves the hassle of trying to get lights, temps, etc, correct in his smaller table.

If moving his current home can be done, do it. It can be very stressful and confusing to be moved somewhere new so quickly! Good luck with your little guy:)

Mission accomplished!! Tortoise moved in his big enclosure - slept in his hide the whole journey so prob doesn't even realise he's been moved lol. Can relax and enjoy weekend away now :)
