The stray dog we had been keeping in the backyard has finally found a good home. That means, the torts can have the backyard again. So after some clean up, I made an enclosure for Daisy. (Pictures taken before Cypress mulch and chicken wire over top were added.) Petunia is big enough to get the rest of the yard.

Look at that smile on her face! Looks like she had a wonderful day outside. (I love when they look like they're smiling)

Ditto what Terry said--Russians and Sulcata seem to have a smile on their face all the time: "Here we are, loving life!"

How old did we decide Daisy is?

Not sure. I got her from the Phoenix Herp Society and she was one of the smallest ones. I'm guessing a few years old.

Then when everyone was inside, the baby Desert Tort we are nursing for a friend had his turn. Here is a picture before he got some rays. (He is doing really well!)

:D That baby sure is a cutie! :D Don't you just get this great feeling inside, when you see them outside just being tortoises?

I love pictures of tortoises outside!! That's a nice enclosure for Daisy, and Petunia is lucky to have the whole yard to herself :) Spoiled torts ;)
Nelson would eat all those little white rocks!

I haven't seen Daisy eating rocks. It old, dried dog doo that Petunia seems to like! I'm hoping to get Daisy a Russian friend sometime this year. And I'll tell you, it was pictures of Nelson that helped me fall in love with these little guys!
