Making progress on my transmission repair. Spent a good 5 hrs yesterday working on the truck. First job was to remove a part of the exhaust system. Had been shooting the exhaust header bolts with rust blaster. Need to remove the section with the catalytic converter in it. And I didn't need to break any bolts off in the exhaust header (a common occurrence with something that gets terribly hot, on and off). THAT will make Transmission reinstallation a lot easier. Took the front passenger tire and fender well off to get a good shot at the side of the engine to clean the oil residue from a weeping rear main seal. Last thing yesterday was to drain the engine oil, so when I do the rear main seal, I don't make an oily mess in the driveway.Well it is Tuesday, so'ooo that means bird cage cleaning day.

Yep I am fine. We are headed down state today in Michigan. There is no smoke where we are headed. We didn't win any of the tournaments but we did win big fish for the tournaments in the steelhead fish division.

Yeah MG, sounds like some wonder women stuff going on there too! Good for you.....good prep if you have the time beats the dogsnot out of a Q&D. Whenever I try a a quick&dirty, I hurt myself. LOL

That baby last night was precious! Meet Nora the Chinese anchor baby....well she is!

What a head of hair! She looks like a Troll-baby...and no I did not tell her mother that! We had a great time and I really like the dad, Wesson. I got to feed Nora when her mom ate. Very special for me.



The man wasn't lying on tv the other night and this was a typical example as the entire family was here from China but i see way past politics in other human beings and i really like those folks. There are things in the world I don't control but does any of that matter when you are holding a baby and feeding her? Nope!


So cool that Lyn still has the Canary. What a neat addition to your home! Who knows, maybe the owner will show up in your life somehow.

Well I had a wake up call being in northern Michigan with some of my old neighbors. They had always lived up north and had jobs that payed the bills. Now they are older 70's plus and in the last few years their quality of living has went down. It broke my heart. Makes me feel fortunate I am where I am. But I still wonder if I will be ok for the future. I was a blue collar worker all my life. So I am not financially wealthy but I am comfortable. One of my best friends I have decided to send him some money when I can. They did everything right and are almost living in squalor. I guess it's the side of life that sucks.

Good morning all.
There are wildfires on the far sides of the hills all around where I live and with a change of wind direction the smoke and smell has reached my area, so all windows are closed for now. It is so sad to know that so much natural beauty and wildlife will be lost.

I let the canary out of the cage to stretch its wings yesterday and after a short while he found himself back to it without any problem. This morning it's a completely different story. He does not want to go back! I'm just going to have to wait until he's ready - he should be hungry enough soon - I hope. Lola wants to go out but I daren't leave the door open for him in case Houdini escapes again.

I'm trying to get him a bigger cage but very few pet stores stock them now or they just have smaller types. I can order one online but I like to see stuff before buying....I hate shopping online.

Anyway better start my chores, so enjoy your day and TTFN.
