Oh yes. I've raised lots of greens from hatchings. Very different indeed.

I agree. (And this one might be) but the ones I've seen myself are much larger and very heavy bodied and have shorter rear limbs and meatier tails than a Basilisk. Definitely not designed to run on top of the water.
In fact, the face coloration on the lizard in the photo looks Basilisk. The limbs look iguana.

Basilisk don't usually pause long enough to get a photo of them.
This guy just looks too stocky to me. The toes look too short. But I didn't see it in person.
I've never seen a large lizard as beautiful as the ones Tom is raising
There are feral Mexican spiny tails in FL too. I've seen the YT videos. At least two different species of spiny tails, in addition to the green iguanas, basilisks, tegus, Burmese pythons, etc...

we have been friends for about twenty years. I took a screenshot of the animal off of Facebook. He frequently posts photos of it and it appears to be healthy in every aspect. If I’m not mistaken, he collaborated with another individual to produce the albino.

I was gonna buy a Tegu , but didn’t like how they brumated half the year . And get slightly too big and then I saw these fell in love with the color so how tame and puppy dog like they are and don’t roommate and stay fairly small. I saw a holdback all yellow head male sub adult yesterday . And now i need one . Def will take my time and buy the perfect one. How is the tame and social process going ? @Tom
They are awesome! There doesn't seem to be a "taming process" with these. They are just innately tame and you just have to not wreck it by making mistakes. I still have lots of them if you want one. I'm driving to Louisiana next month. Want me to bring you one? Or we can ship it...

Thats is awesome . They sound amazing . I’m not a breeder & This will be my only pet lizard . so I’m kind of picky with the one I want. I’m very willing to pay extra for a high-end holdback something with a high yellow head. But im in no rush . Do have any holdbacks ?
I'm not a breeder. I bought 10 from a local breeder I know with the intention of selling a few and keeping a few, and hopefully getting some females for future breeding. I'll have to get more from an unrelated source. I have 8 left, and I suppose all of them are holdbacks. They will be a year old next month.

Yeah i have no idea how these arent more popular . Do you think they can be tamed enough to walk around house floor like a puppy dog? And if I let him in my backyard, will it try to escape or they tame enough just to stay in one place?
Both the mail and the female look beautiful not even sure what gender I wanna get. Do you like the males or females more ?
Mine never try to run. Even when they were little babies. They do get quite excited when they are out in the sun on a hot day in the summer UV, but that is normal for any lizard species, and they calm back down to normal after a couple of weeks of living outside in that UV every day.
I think the males are more impressive looking with their larger heads and crests, but both are awesome. My intention is to make them 8x8x8 foot cubes outside to live in with a heated house for night time and colder weather.
