So I was wondering how often I will need to soak my baby tort. I hope I'm correct in thinking its for hydration for the most part but I'm wondering how deep and what temp the water should be? Oh and is regular tap water ok?

I'm very new and this one question I haven't answered reading all of your extremely helpful info.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

--Once a day for about 20+ minutes
--Yes, for hydration (also some species are encouraged to do big
business while in the bath)
--Deep enough for the tort to still be able to comfortably raise his
head out of the water so they don't drown

--Tepid temp, not too warm not too cold (how is that for an annoying
answer---okay, so around 96-98 ish)...but if you are wanting to
offer a cool off bath on a warm day then that is aok also...

--Tap should be fine (we are on a well here and I know what is in
our water so I don't worry---get to know your water)

:p

What ascott said with the additional advice that your tort is far more likely to relax and enjoy first thing in the morning when he hasn't warmed up properly. If he is warmed up and/or can see through or out of his bath then he will want out.

Experiment with the water temperature to see what your tort likes. It is not an exact science. You have a fair amount of leeeway in how warm the water can be... it mustn't be hot though... you don't want to cook your tort.
