That's some awesome weight gain.

Jethro Gibbs weighs around 800 grams

He has some pyramiding primarily caused by his previous owner that was still in the "dark ages" of tortoise keeping. ( No water bowl, a diet of lettuce, no humidity, and super hot temperatures. )

It's a miracle that he survived that way for the first year of his life!

I'm sure that is why he is this size at 2 years old.

But I keep him properly now, so as long as he is healthy, I am okay with the fact that he is probably stunted.

Haha

it seems like Baxter was in a little bit of a slow growth period for a while, now he has started another growth spurt, he is now gaining weight on par with my aldabras when they were that size i.e. at 700grams of weight they were gaining @ 5 grams per day. the Aldabras now a year later are 11.5 pounds and gaining around 25 grams per day @ 1.5 lbs per month.:tort::cool:

Wowee!

That's a lot per month for a tortoise!

?

That's almost as much as my cat gains per month!

( JK ) But she seriously is FAT though.
