Beetroot?

I know they can have the tops, but what about the beet itself, only sparingly of course. I try to give him something different every day. If beet root is okay it will be given to him with a mix of other veggies. Some sites said yes sparingly an some said only tops.

I had some canned beets left over from a salad I was making. They weren't pickled and had no added salt. I gave them to the Manouria tortoises and they ate them.
