Behavior change!

I changed my sulcatas enclosure about 3 days ago. Everything in it is the exact same. The only change I made was to his burrow. Still used the same material and everything he had before. I just made it a little deeper to help keep him cooler during the day(I made it myself since the day I got him so it’s not like he dug it himself and I went and messed with it)
It’s hot here in Arizona and while I bring him in if it’s too hot or too cold etc, he spends as much time outside as possible.

Okay so here’s the issue, he won’t use his burrow now. Not even at night. He also won’t eat the food I put in for him in the mornings. It’s a mix of greens, hibiscus if we have any bloomed and cactus once a week.

He’s well hydrated, and will still eat and graze in the yard for hours when I bring him out of his enclosure. Is the weird behavior because of the burrow change? Should I be concerned for something else?

lol this does sound like he’s just being grumpy because of the change😂they’re such creatures of habit and get so used to their territory, any small change can cause them to loose appetite and go into a huff🥲

Let me tag our sulcata expert @Tom for him to weigh in here, but I wouldn’t worry just yet 🐢💚

What size sulcata? What type of burrow have you made? Can we see pics of the burrow?

In any case, you just need to keep putting him down the burrow until he re-learns that its his and that there are no sulcata eating monsters down there.
