My two year old male sulcata is as happy and healthy as I could want. When I'm in the kitchen cooking or doing dishes he always under foot. I think it's adorable of course, but sometimes he'll bite my toes. What gives? Am I food? Is he trying to get my attention?

I've heard of this happening to the ladies because of nail polish. The color would attract them.

Your toes look yummy so he's going for it.

I bet it hurt too!! My one red foot...not sure what it is about her & I usually don't polish my nails but if I move things around or whatever in her home, she will follow my hand with her mouth open & follow me & she got me good one time!!

But if your toes are polished, yes they are attracted to the color & movement & will assume it's yummy food, so they take a bite :) I learned that one along time ago as I was standing on our deck, drinking a nice cold refreshing beverage on a hot summers day, & I felt this horrendous pain on my big toe & screamed & yelled all kinds of fun filled words out because I wasn't sure what just happened. And when I looked down it was my tortoise just trying to eat my toe. She's got a big mouth too!
