i could take his tank out in the morning when its warmer and put a screen over it so no animals can get in, but as for right now, its too chilly for him.. will he be okay for the night without his bulb??

Put a hot water bottle in the enclosure. Any plastic bottle filled with 110 degree water should be safe.

Why not if your worried go to a 24 hour walmart , Walgreens , CVS, Target , and buy a hand warmer that's what people use to ship torts to keep them warm . You don't need a light at night and if kept warm it don't need light til you buy a new bulb . Have a good night now you can fix it tommarrow !

Does it really get that cold in your house at night? I don't have any night heat or lights on babies that are in the house and they get by just fine.

Why do you have a light on at 10:30 at night? Do you leave it on all the time for heat?

The best way to maintain your ambient temperature day and night is to use a ceramic heating element set on a thermostat. This is really easy and relatively cheap to do and CHEs almost never burn out. I have one that has been in continuous use since 1991.

Always have extra bulbs on hand for just this sort of thing...
