Very pretty tort there. However, the enclosure needs some improvement ASAP. Those pellets are the worse thing you could use. Please get some cypress mulch, coconut coir, or plain dirt for a substrate. If you give a better pic of your enclosure and a list of your care regimen, we can help you tweak it for the best care for your tort.
I see how all that labeling would indicate that habistat is a good choice. It's like food safe kitty litter for your tortoise.
But that is why it is not so good, like kitty litter is so good at drawing moisture, it desicates the tortoise too. A cat will only be on kitty litter for a few minutes, not 24/7.
The tortoise ought to have choices for substrate too. Those choices should include a moist substrate area like they would find in their natural habitat.
Even in outside tortoise habitats that look dry, tortoises are good at finding places with moist soil or plant litter/mulch to spend most of their time. That place with the more moisture is important for healty and normal life and growth for the tortoise.
Here's my Hermanni enclosure. It's bark mulch, with peet moss mixed in, then a few big handfuls of sphagnum tossed all over. I pour a gallon of water in there several times a week to keep it moist.
Planting seeds today!!!
Go get a 2cuft bag of peat moss, prob $7 and will last years!!!!
