Hi

Does anyone know if broad beans (in the pods & raw) are ok for Indian Star's?

Cheers

If they are safe for humans then they should be safe for tortoises too. In the wild (or near the wild in their native country) stars raid the bean fields and eat lots of them. Don't know which type of beans though.

I'd say it's fine as part of a varied diet, but I would go overboard with it due to the relatively high protein content of legumes.

:D I had to look these up, as I wasn't familiar with the name.

"Vicia faba, also known as the broad bean, fava bean, field bean, bell bean, or tic bean, is a species of bean (Fabaceae) native to north Africa and southwest Asia, and extensively cultivated elsewhere" ... now I know what your talking about. :D

Thank you for your replies I will try one tomorrow. I know there were no pesticides used (they are home grown).
