ok so i just cliped it off and it is bleeding just a tad. we put him in some warm water and he seems to be ok. i will put him in a clean habitat with just towels to avoid infection thank you all from the bottom of my heart

Ya did good! Sorry I got called away in the middle of all this fun. Be sure to also watch it long term. You want to be sure it grows back correctly and it is able to naturally be worn down.
He also may have a little trouble eating for awhile, so keep that also in mind.
You done good....and I am sure he will eventually P) appreciate it...lol
Absolutely as Jacqui mentioned, keep an eye on it.. and perhaps if you cut his food up into smaller pieces that will aide him in eating while it heals....
