I just made an appointment for my Redfoot that is not eating. Bertha has not eaten in a week and next Monday will be two weeks +. She just isn't acting right in general.
The appointment is for Monday at 9. (4-27-15) I'm hoping by then she will have eaten something.
I found them on our approved vet list.
Are they any good with tortoises?.

Just make sure they proscribe medication only for something found. If they feel the need for a general antibiotic injectable is better and easier than oral. I don't like baytril, it's very painful when injected. Ceftadiazadine is a great general antibiotic if they choose to prescribe. But a good battery of test should be done to hopefully find what's wrong then go from there,

Also, don't allow a vitamin A injection. Sometimes vets give too much and the tortoise's skin sloughs off.

Thanks. I wouldn't normally go see a vet about a not eating issue this soon, however, she is just not quite right.
For example she sits with her head lightly bobbing up and down and seems to have difficulty doing regular things..Like getting out of the pool.

If she is soaking constantly, and acting so lethargic, perhaps she had a light parasite load prior to you acquiring her, and the compromised immune system resulting from the stress of being relocated allowed a larger population to take hold?…

She has acted a world different than her "sister" since I bought them home.
Might I assume that all are infected now? The stronger ones seem to be able to handle it.
I didn't isolate them for very long because the breeder I got them from has over 40. All housed together and apparently healthy.
Oh, well. I cant see them sick and do nothing.

Just got back. I should have posted here first.
She is 100% fine.
No obstruction. Not egg bound. No parasite load. No upper R.I. Good heart and absolutely empty gut.
I've placed her back in with the other girls and will offer her more roam time.
I liked the place. This vet does seem knowledgeable.
She owns a Sulcata!
