Hi everyone,
I've been preparing my Hermann's tortoise, Bert for brumation for the last month: fasted at full temps for a couple of weeks with the following two weeks bringing his enclosure temps down. I started this slightly earlier than I would have liked, but he seemed determined to sleep!
Anyway, preparation was going well until yesterday when temperatures spiked (maybe 4-5 degrees Celsius above desired) and I wasn't around to make sure he stayed cool. He seems to have woken up and I'm wondering if he will default back into "brumation mode" once he realizes that temperatures are still dropping. Or should I bring him back up to summer temperatures and start to feed again?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks!
