Calcium block

Bernie has shown no interest in his calcium block since I’ve gotten him! Today and yesterday I noticed he has been munching on it all day! Is this normal? Could this be a sign he’s growing? Or something I should be concerned about? Or am I just being a smother again? He is a 5 month Burmese star! ️

Hi!
That's fine. They can ignore it for months and gnaw the whole thing in 30 minutes later. It's not a regular supplement but a way to satisfy "calcium cravings"

Alex is right, there isn't anything to worry about. They know when to eat it or not.

Brilliant you provided it in the enclosure! As mentioned ignored for ages and then suddenly it will eat it. Keep it there to ensure strong , shell, claws, beak and bones

100% normal
I can supply cuttlebone to my tortoises for months and continue throwing them away as they get dirty. Not a nibble. Then one day I'll see entire bones eaten with no real explanation why.
