how much and often should I sprinkle reprical on Sheldon’s food. He gets mazuri 3x a week and eats his cuttlebone. Want to make sure he gets enough but don’t want to over do it.

I always enjoy your posts, and excited when long time keepers answer my questions :) how often do you offer the eggshells? :<3::tort::tort:

Now remember I’m feeding 51 adults at one time ! Not 1-2 baby’s ! So I give them alittle bit every day ! So some get it today some get it the next day or maybe the next .

If they are eating the cuttlefish bone and mazuri they shouldn't need additional calcium. But if the repcal you have has D3 then I would use that once a week just for the vitamin D, especially in the winter when we are relying on the bulbs for a lot of the UV light.

If the tort chokes on a peace of the cuddle bone your right
Andin the growing or breading season females may need more calcium.

Calcium is actually a little tricky. It is REALLY hard for people and animals to absorb it into the blood before it gets washed out of the system. The best calcium is going to a super-fine powder. A good test for calcium supplements is to add some to some vinegar and wait a few minutes. The more fully it dissolves, the better of a source it is.

One problem I had with a fine powder is that my torts sometimes rejected food with it. I found that mixing it into foods so it disappeared helped.
